DARK NEBULA - I know! I attempted to speak sweetly and politely as well. Perhaps if we throw credit cards and contracts of life-long servitude we will achieve the desired result? :)
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing's happening :(
@Leto
Well deserts lack any high rised structures that the Predators are very fond off unless of course we have some buildings for them to jump on.
I think, AVP will be ignored. Becaus AVP it's - crossover, not canon for the Predator or Alien.
>>>Where should the film be set?<<<
Predator -- Jungle
Predator 2 - City
I think, Predator 4 must be in desert! This is the best place for predators: heat, war, and a hot spot - a perfect place for hunting.
I hope they Ignore AVP and go off in its own universe without a single reference to Alien. I don't get people always wanting to connect Alien and Predator together, they are two different movie series. Stop connecting them as if they are in one universe!
Hoping for lots of action and to remain true to the series. Costume design would be great to follow AvP:R ie Slimmer design. I would love it if they remain true to what predators are. We got a glimpse of it in AvP:R's final battle between Wolf and the Predalien and even on AvP's final battle, for a second with Scar impaling the Alien queen mid air. PREDATORS are the ultimate hunters, equipped with top of the line weapons. Masters of hand to hand, weapons experts ie Staffs, shuriken, combo-stick, gaunlets, swords, etc. We've mostly seen them using their plasma casters and then some minor brute force fights. In PREDATORS 2010 WE got to see to preds duke it out to the fatal end, for the crucified classic pred. Unfair fight in my opinion but it was a good fight. I feel like I've rambled on enough, slimmer more mobile Predators please and for once, let the Predator WIN!! Thanks for your time.
On the Predator home-world.
A brief glimpse given in AVP:R, but who cares about that movies?
Perhaps a human spaceship crashes into the home-world and is besieged by juvenile predators (the adults are obviously off-world playing bloodsport). The humans then escape just before the adults return.
This would allow us to see the extended predator civilization.
It's a good idea insofar as rebooting Total Recall was a good idea; insofar as rebooting RoboCop was a good idea.
No, it's not a good idea. Because you do not better something that becomes a cult classic.
Cronenberg rebooted the 50's B-movie, The Fly, and boy what a cult classic the reboot became. But you'd be foolish to reboot or indeed remake it now.
No. So don't reboot cult classics, which Predator now is. Instead reboot the mediocre stuff - including sequels - I mean, why can't we say, Alien 3 did not hit the spot so we will reboot that particular sequel?
My answer is: yes.
Let us expunge Predators from our minds. The intentions were good and noble, but the execution was not worthy.
The new race/species just didn't work for me for two main reasons: it diminished the original Predator race; and the tribalism seemed to dumb down what should be a complex and superiorly advanced alien civilization.
But I appreciate this is not the forum to pour scorn on Predators (I'll save my diatribe about how difficult it is to buy into the idea that a fat, schizophrenic manages to dodge super Predators for several "seasons"), so I'll just repeat that I think it should be disregarded as canon -- which, by the way, we should also do if Predator 4 sucks too.
Durp004: I agree but it does at least make it easier to remember the titles of the movies.
Can the Predator movies get an award for least creative titles?
Predator
Predator 2
Predators
The Predator
Probably took a total of 20 seconds to come up with all of those.
I do as well!
"The Predator"
I like how that sounds.
Agreed guys, it can't be a re-hash. They need to explore new ground. What made PREDATORS cool is it took place on another planet. The downside is I wasn't hugely fond of the casting and we didn't get to see much else of the PREDATOR culture, besides a few short cut-scenes. I'd say, set it in the future, on a remote planet. Not a Predator hunting ground either, maybe a colony? I'd be happy with an expansion of the franchise, like Prometheus is doing for Alien. If it goes the route of Jurassic World or Star Wars, in which they rely heavily on a tried and true formula, I feel it won't live up to expectations. It needs a new angle.
^Pretty much this. Trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice is very difficult. Especially in the same location. I don't expect Predator 4 to be much better than, say, Predators (which I think is a truly well made little film), but I don't want them to sink into AvP levels of lunacy. It's fun for an occasion, but not a stand out for repeat viewings.
Yeah Predator 2 was not bad.. but not great.. Predators also not bad... PROBLEM you have and the next Movie will have the same... is PREDATOR was a Great Movie a First, and its hard to Top it... You get movies were you just cant beat the First One... Ghostbuster included... sometimes you can get a decent attempt like Aliens to Alien or Terminator 2 to Terminator but you can never quite match the Original... sometimes you can, sometimes you cant.
Interesting for them to go back to the Roots that made the First Movie the best in the Series and AVP bar none
While Predators was thin on the ground regarding any truly original content - being mostly a tribute to the first movie, showing a different "tribe" of Predators whom hunt in ways that break the traditions of the more classical Predators reminds me of the Hish clan of Predators from the Dark Horse comics, and could, if handled right, be used to expand upon the franchises universe.
Depending on the story I don't necessarily think it needs to acknowledge Predators, but I don't think that means it should be removed from canon or anything.
We know that the original movie started off with a spacecraft delivering the Predator to Earth....so it would be really COOL if the Earthlings engaged in conflict with a space travel capable alien race...ie; some space scenes with quickly developed space craft...space fighters!! Perhaps using the British "SKYLON" engine....there could be scenes of Generals and NASA folks talking (strong scenes in a "WTF can we do and how soon?" excitement level) taslking about the X15 and SR-71 and quickly developing a space fighter (and space refueling stations/ships) utilizing lasers (as Boeing and Ratheon have developed). instead of missiles and guns. Could be awesome....as opposed to just another urban or jungle ground based encounter. These Aliens even have a tactical nuclear device strapped to their wrist, plus their shoulder laser, as well as a near visibility cloak technology...So why would the producers limit it to a ground based conflict? IF you were an alien and had all that capability wouldn't you have a flying vehicle? Hell, even BATMAN has a flying vehicle!!
That said it should remain separate from the "ALIEN" or "STAR WARS" story lines....just us versus them....
In the second movie the predator of the first film was a criminal. Perhaps he could be part of a roving band of planet exploitationists, as opposed to being in a world vs world conjflict. It could be like our world versus a "pirate" ship of attackers. Possibly a large mother ship, from which the original space craft delivered the first Predator.
Predator 2 was under rated, Actually liked it. Predators was also good, not brilliant, but it was good. The AVP were totally rubbish. So if theres going to be a another predator, Hope he fights someone like the ROCK back in the jungle. That be epic.
predator must be the only movie thats can say it had one of the original actors possibly doing a sequel reboot and that had 2 governors of california was also in it..
I loved it. That might be nostalgia speaking, and it's not anywhere near as good as the first one but I think it gets a bad rep that it doesn't necessarily deserve. I loved the end chase with Danny Glover at the slaughter house, over rooftops, through people's bathrooms and eventually to the predator ship.
Maybe in a Asian or South American Rainforest
Oh My God! That's frickin awesome!!!
I would like to see a predator movie that is set in the future(Alien timeline future) that would first take placce on planet that is coverd in dense forest. the humans would o course show up wanting to make another colony. while 'setting up shop', the people find them selves in the middle of a predator war. the predators vs the 'super' predators from PREDATORS. amisdt all the chaos a colonail marien ship would show up and the humans would start fighting,..maybe. then the movie would end up in space, and finally back on the 'good' predator homeworld shown in AVPR. that is all.
I love how average it looks on the outside. Then you walk in and enter a world of awesome
I'm not the biggest Alien or Predator fan, but that is just pure awesome!
:D thanks man
so I want this entrance to my bedroom
Africa, something like THIS
maybe they can make up for not doing the Predators sequel by making Arnold the star of this next film, maybe they can stick Van Damme in it somewhere LOL (not as the predator though). How about the entire Expendables team while were at it, however none of the team would die so that wouldnt work out too well. Seriously though I'd like to see Arnold star in sequels to most of his previous roles, including this new Predator movie, I'm still waiting on King Conan too.
I would really like to see an Alien reboot/sequel next although maybe I would have to watch Promethous(did I write it right?) wich is I guess part of the franchise.....eh it just looks too off the Alien franchise you know(also boring.)
I'd keep it the same, but with a different mask, more armor, and a new face design.
What about a cave? It's pitch black, until you see three red dots...
This may sound a little silly but what about a desert? he could burrow in the sands and attack when people go insane or even have powers like creating mirages. I could emagine a guy running up to and oasis and drinking loads before a predator jumps from the water and puts a blade up his chin and then ripping the head off.
If it was a reboot I'd be fine, if it's awesome that's great, it not then you still have the amazing original movie to go back to.
