A full third act would account for roughly 35+ minutes of footage. Even if that 9 minutes includes some of what was deleted, it won't be much.
Like GMan, it's really quite a bummer. There isn't really much incentive to buy this.
Maybe that "Hunting the Predator (9 minutes)" includes some Emissary Predator footage, or at least some daylight original shooting.
I gotta say, I'm normally a completest with franchises I adore, regardless of how weak the film is, but I'll be passing on this. Especially since there doesn't seem to be any sign of the original third act on this release.
Here below is the Google translation from the chinese website Mtime regarding the "Iron Blood Warrior" (aka "The Predator") opening weekend in China. Numbers are in local currency, yuan. Enjoy!
"Iron Blood Warrior" premiered in the mainland last Friday, the first week of box office 136 million, easily won the weekly box office champion.
Prometheus and Alien: Contract, which belonged to the Alien Universe in the series of "Iron Blood Warrior", were released in 2012 and 2017 respectively, with box office of 220 million and 310 million respectively. Looking at the current box office trend, the "Iron Blood Warrior" mainland total box office surpasses "Prometheus" is not a big problem, whether it can catch up with "Alien: Contract" is not suspense.
On the other hand, "Iron Blood Warrior" currently scores only 6.0 points on Time Network. It has a large gap with the scores of "Prometheus", "Dimorphism: Contract" 7.5 points and 7.8 points, and the word-of-mouth performance is average.
When the "Iron Blood Warrior" premiered in North America in September, the first week of the box office was 24.63 million US dollars, about 171 million yuan. The film's in-house film market performance is slightly different than the same period in North America. At present, the "Iron Blood Warrior" North American total box office is 50.9 million US dollars, about 354 million yuan, the "Iron Blood Warrior" mainland results may not be able to catch up with this figure.
Thanks, Chris, it's almost as much as it did at home in the opening weekend. One and half month after its worldwide release and in a country where the pirated content is everywhere to be found, it is not such a bad start.
Thanks for the news! I just front paged the news via Variety's coverage, but this is great! Not a huge amount of money but still a good haul!
Hi, still I feel that if you've hired a writer/director like Shane Black you should allow him to have his creative vision and make his movie. There is a certain expectation if you have become interested due to the trailers that you'll see a certain type of movie. Retro-fitting a new parallel plot-line onto the pre-existing picture must have been a tough undertaking - no doubt someone like Black was equipped to carry it out, but it would have been easier if they could've left well enough alone. It must've been time-consuming and very pricey to have re-shot like they did. Still with the China opening this weekend (Oct 26th) there is a chance it could become the highest worldwide box office grosser in the series (inc. AVP). Which would be good news for a sequel. Perhaps one featuring some of the pre-existing footage that's already been shot! All the best.
Thank goodness that they took that emissary crap out of the film. The movie was bad as it was. No need to make it worse.
I think this depends on how well The Predator does at the Box Office and its Critical Reception and SADLY this has not done too well on both accounts.
But we still have the Franchise, and with the ALIEN one i think its now more likely the NEXT movie from the Predator or Alien Franchise could be a AVP Reboot.
I cant help but think Disney/Fox will pick upon Ridley Scotts WAR OF THE WORLDS comment regarding where he would like to have taken the Prometheus/Alien Franchise.
And so a Aliens vs Predator vs Engineers could be something they could consider... as to continue with Alien Covenant or The Predator may be more risky for them.
We all would have liked to have seen the lifted plot-line from The Predator featuring the Edward James Olmos military general character with the 2 dissident (emissary) yautja teaming up with the human characters and the loonies. It is a shame that a test audience, that may not even feature sci-fi fans, sci-fi horror fans and/or Predator fans could be allowed to dictate to both Fox and Shane Black what should be in their movie or not. I was actually looking forward to seeing this sequence, having seen it in the initial teaser trailers, so it seems a shame we'll never see it. Very disappointing!
That photo is either featuring the actors doubles, or is a fake. Those people standing on the tanks are not the lead actors from the movie, they are merely dressed to look as if they are! Fill us in Kyle Strauts.
Is this in the art book?
I'm hoping all the deleted footage will be on the Blu-Ray, but I heard a rumor it won't be.. :( Time will tell I guess!
Thanks very much!
@Losthunterssanctum, I love the suits! I'm currently building a list of the builders I plan to contact. I will add you to that list!
Hello! I maybe able to assist. I have built 4 suits for myself and clients and have many connections to other suit builders. Cheers!

I can bet these posters can get more juveniles in theaters to see The Predator than the official marketing campaign.
Look up Scott Marshall, Josh Jones and Lee Hurley... they are some of the Predator suit builders. Go from there.

That's awesome.
Thanks for sharing.
It does set up an interesting plot if a sequel is done. Who are the predators that are helping earth and why? There's never been much of a back story in the movies about the predators but this is unique. Hoping that there will be a sequel.
On another topic--Man... The more images I see of the Fugitive Predator, the worse I feel about his demise midway. It was liking offing Bryan Cranston after the first act of Godzilla '14. That Predator really needed to "stick around" throughout the film.
"At least it's not Deceptive as the ONE Alien Covenant poster."
Umm, Idk by what you mean deceptive BigDave, movie posters are just for marketing purposes and don't necessarily have to tie into any scene from the film. Even the poster for the 1979 Alien had the cracking egg that's absolutely nowhere to be seen in the film.
From my point of view, the poster for AC (the mural one) is symbolic and shows the dominance of David's creation, the perfect organism over other life forms. And that's his plan as he explained in advent "My creatures will be set loose, to rule this galaxy." He pretty much wants to press the reset button to the whole life in the galaxy.
Back on the Chinese Predator poster, it's much more cinematic than the other posters and I'd love to have that one as a Blu-ray cover.
Thanks, Chris.
Interesting but does give too much away... but then anyone who has seen the Trailers would know about the 10ft+Super-Predator
At least its not Deceptive as the ONE Alien Covenant poster.
That's awesome.
When the poster is better than the movie.
I am hoping the daylight fight will be on the blue ray. Thanks for sharing Dark Nebula!
Brilliant! Just front paged this. Thanks for sharing Nebula! I agree I wish the fight had been as epic as this poster portrays haha
Hey, maybe they will release in China the initial version, with the scenes shot in daylighr. I think that one could be actually better, plus they might censor some of the jokes.
Thanks, Dark Nebula.

I'd like to think water is an added challenge, to make the hunt more interesting. If not...Where is the challenge? Superior weapons/superior tech....yawn!
Water is the most abundant resource on this planet: Hence, your suit will be susceptible.
The water factor brings up some great questions.
It seems cloaking too much could affect the Predator psyche- too much cloaking didn't work out too well for Gollum.
Seeing how quickly McKenna mastered the cloaking after he swallowed the device we have to ask: is cloaking a voluntary process or rather an involuntary one like a chameleon does change its color to match the surroundings?
And if it is involuntary, triggered by a certain state of mind, the fact that it does not work in the water could mean they feel comfortable in the water, like crabs do. Also, when they are confident they can overwhelm their victims they do not use the cloaking.
Wasn't the metal ball that McKenna swallowed in the Mexican pub the cloaking device? He became invisible to the bartender.
Now that you mention it, water affecting the cloaking technology raises a funny question.
So the high and mighty superior Yautja stealth technology is useless in the face of a humble water-sprinkler defence perimeter.......
XD
Granted, the water sprinkler isn't going to help from getting your ass handed to you once you have detected said Yautja. But still, an odd technological weak-point for a species that apparently likes hot and sweaty
What little I know of the tech, taken from what we see in the movies, especially the first is...
# When perfect still the Predator does appear 100% Invisible, but if active when the Predator is moving the effectiveness drops, creating a ghost effect.
# The Technology is negatively impacted by water, which seems to short out the mechanism of the technology, drastically reducing the cloak's effectiveness.
# Many have speculated that the cloaking field is generated from the Predators various pieces of armor and the fishnet undergarment the alien hunters seem to also wear.
# Though contradictory to what we see in the first movie, some video games have included the mechanism of automatically decloaking whenever the Predator uses their Plasmacaster (shoulder mounted gun).
I'm sure there is more info on Xenopedia.
As interesting as the cloaking technology is, I have always wanted to see a Predator go old-school, using mud, grass stains and foliage for camouflage, possibly even with old-school weaponry...

There could be different endings or rewards depending on how often cloaking is used. Using no cloak except for scripted/required parts would yield the best rewards/ending. Using cloak all the time would get a "meh" ending.
I'm in for the practical effects, but not in favor of an alliance between predators and humans, at best they have to ignore humans when not killing them in self defense, like the fugitive predator did.
Even the scene from Predators, when the captive predator allowed Royce to escape using their ship seemed far fetched.
Generally, a Predator who can cloak and wears cammo seems pointless.
Agreed, I wish they had remained included as well. I'm sure they could've pulled off the army fatigues look.
Honestly wish they were in the film so we could have had more practical Predator action. Though these creatures in US military fatigues is pretty silly looking.
The Black one surely looks like the Sangheili (Elites) from the Halo Universe, especially if they already had the back-curved legs.
It is really funny to see the studios ripping off the ones who ripped them off!
