As part of their July issue, Empire Magazine feature a spread for Dan Trachtenberg's Predator: Badlands! Included is a new movie still of Dek (the film's protagonist Yautja) and his Brother - his Brother being the one wielding the glowing red sword. Not only do we get a new image, but we also get a few words about Dek from director Dan Trachtenberg himself:

The filmmaker puts Dek – played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi – in the lineage of stoic outcast heroes like Conan The Barbarian and Mad Max. “He’s a thing of few words, pretty blunt,” Trachtenberg teases. “He cuts straight to the point. Literally and figuratively.” Since that’s Dek’s brother wielding that weapon in our exclusive image above, you can guess how our protagonist has ended up that way.
The interview concludes with Trachtenberg teasing his next Predator project, which many speculate could be his sequel to Prey.
The July issue of Empire Magazine which features this spread goes on sale July 3rd, 2025!
