There is another Weyland-Yutani Synthetic in Dan Trachtenberg's Predator: Badlands that draws inspiration from Michael Fassbender's David in Prometheus. Set reports from when Badlands was filming in New Zealand have revealed some fascinating new details about the upcoming film. According to one such report from Collider, the film will feature another prominent Android who goes by the name of Abe – and he apparently draws significant inspiration from David – the Weyland Industries Synthetic played by Fassbender in Ridley Scott Alien prequel Prometheus.
According to Susie Glass, who was the main hair and makeup person working on Badlands, Abe belongs to a group of what she calls the "Hero Synths":
Glass had also teased another synth character, Abe, whom she called the "hero synths," noting that the character was designed as a nod to Michael Fassbender's David and Walter characters from the Alien franchise.
While on the topic of Weyland-Yutani, it was also revealed in that same set report, the reason for Weyland-Yutani being on that planet – they too are after the Kalisk. While Dek aims to hunt down the Kalisk for honor, Weyland-Yutani are looking to capture the creature for research – of course. As if Xenomorphs weren't bad enough.
Apparently the reason Thia (Elle Fanning's character) has no legs at the start of the film is also due to her first encounter with the Kalisk. She strikes a deal with Dek to help him survive if he can get her legs back.
