Predator: Badlands trailer description from CinemaCon & official movie logo revealed!

Our first look at Dan Trachtenberg's Predator: Badlands was given to attendees of CinemaCon this week and descriptions of the epic footage have begun to make their way online! In a complete role reversal, it appears in Predator: Badlands, the Predator will be the one being hunted by an unknown antagonist on an alien planet. A revised plot outline for the film explain the film will center on a young warrior Predator who is outcast from his clan on an alien planet. While there he discovers he must fight to the top of the food chain but he’s not alone on this journey. Official concept artwork from the film also debuted at the event:

Many media outlets are beginning to share their accounts of what was seen during the footage premiere. TheHashtagShow reports:

Predator: Badlands shows off what it looks like for a heroic Predator. Elle Fanning’s character looks like she has cybernetic enhancements. They’re hunting something that can’t be killed. Thrilling, massive response from the crowd.

DiscussingFilm elaborated even more with their report adding: 

The footage sees a Predator crash-landing on what could either be an alien planet or a post-apocalyptic Earth. For the first time in franchise history, the Predator is truly outnumbered, with alternating shots of human gangs hunting down the Predator with laser rifles. Elle Fanning plays a mysterious and possibly cybernetic human, since we see her eyes roll to all white, who is trying to help the Predator. We see a new variant of a Predator chief with long white braids performing some sort of ritual. 

 

 

The teaser ends with Elle Fanning telling the young Yautja protagonist that what he’s hunting is unbeatable, only to briefly see a massive kaiju-like creature that the Predator is going up against. The main Predator, without his helmet, lets out a mighty yell at the giant beast before he takes it on. 

We've now learned Elle Fanning’s character Thia will team up with the Predator, AvP-style in Predator: Badlands to take on a Kaiju-sized enemy - one that is supposedly unbeatable, among other hostile alien creatures.

While this footage isn't available yet for the public, these descriptions certainly have built some hype around Trachtenberg's next Yautja flick. As soon as any new Badlands footage makes its way online, we'll be sure to keep you posted!
