Kwei | Yautja | Predator: Badlands Character

Who is Kwei in Predator: Badlands? Kwei is the older sibling Yautja to Dek and the first born son to Njohrr. This article details all known information about the Kwei character in Dan Trachtenberg's latest Predator movie.

Kwei's Story

Little is known currently about Kwei's backstory besides the fact he belongs to a clan of Yautja led by his father, Njohrr. In Predator: Badlands, Kwei and Dek are forced to partake in a combat trial to secure their position on the next hunt and to solidify their role in the clan. Kwei is significantly larger than Dek and does best his brother in combat. Their father orders Kwei to execute Dek, but Kwei refuses and a battle between him and Njohrr ensues.

Kwei gets one of his arms sliced off by Njohrr but it's unknown if Kwei dies as a result.

It's clear Kwei cared about his brother and acted as a role model for Dek during their upbringing. His reluctance to kill Dek in combat afforded Dek the opportunity to escape, which is how he ends up on Kalisk.

Kwei's Weapons and Armor

From the limited footage we've seen of Kwei, we know he sports a similar armor-set and mask as Dek's. His shoulder pads seem to be fashioned from bone, rather than metallic plates.

He also wields a red sword, a weapon which seems to be a favorite among the Yautja of Njohrr's clan. Beyond this, however we haven't seen Kwei utilize any other weapons or tech yet.
