Who is Kwei in Predator: Badlands? Kwei is the older sibling Yautja to Dek and the first born son to Njohrr. This article details all known information about the Kwei character in Dan Trachtenberg's latest Predator movie.
Kwei's Story
Little is known currently about Kwei's backstory besides the fact he belongs to a clan of Yautja led by his father, Njohrr. In Predator: Badlands, Kwei is instructed to kill Dek in order to cull the weakness from their clan, but Kwei refuses and a battle between him and Njohrr ensues. Kwei does his best to protect his little brother Dek and before he dies at the hand of their father, programs his ship to take Dek to Genna so he can partake in his right to hunt.
It's clear Kwei cared about his brother and acted as a role model for Dek during their upbringing. Before Njohrr's arrival, Kwei reminisces about how Dek had protected him when Dek finds an old children's toy (one that explodes violently when played with, apparently) Kwei keeps on his ship. This is actually how Dek lost his one fang.
Kwei's Weapons and Armor
From the limited footage we've seen of Kwei, we know he sports a similar armor-set and mask as Dek's. His shoulder pads seem to be fashioned from bone, rather than metallic plates.
He also wields a red lazer sword, a weapon which seems to be a favorite among the Yautja of Njohrr's clan. Beyond this, however we haven't seen Kwei utilize any other weapons or tech yet.
