Predator: Badlands is setting up for a new Alien vs. Predator crossover!

Yep, as many of you have already noticed, the first teaser trailer for Predator: Badlands did indeed confirm an early rumor/theory that Elle Fanning's character in the film is indeed a Weyland-Yutani synthetic! The teaser shows a cutscene of her going into standby mode - exactly the same way David Jonsson's Andy did in Alien: Romulus. The eyes rolling back to expose the Weyland-Yutani emblem is a dead giveaway and all the proof we need.

This clearly shows how interested Fox and Disney are in bringing back the epic crossover between these two sci-fi cinema icons. We know Fox were dropping hints about a new AvP back in October of 2024. It would seem the ball is rolling on that idea faster than we expected.

Despite the obvious nod to the Alien franchise, Romulus director Fede Alvarez, who is directing the next Alien film, did reveal that his vision for a new Alien vs. Predator film would be much less obvious, suggesting he wouldn't want audiences knowing they're walking into an AvP movie until halfway through when the other monster shows up.

Honestly, I'm all for them rebooting AvP, while the Alien purist in me likes them to remain separate and Ridley Scott might be cringing at the idea, I'm all for Disney investing into both of these franchises. They deserve it and we as fans deserve it too. I just hope they don't over saturate either one the way they've been doing with Star Wars.
