Sweet.This spot really get me exiceted. This is starting to look awesome!!!!
I really didn't expect multiple Predators, especially since the title is "The Predator", implying only one. This is really cool. I can't wait to see how this turns out.
Oh my Disney! Is Very Intense this new Trailer and more Darker and Wait a Minute that is a New Berserker Predator Right? Chanfle,is More Terrifying,Scary and Bigger than the original Predator okay what if This new Predator leds him to hunt together? Ultra! That Would be More Intense and I Hope that's the Case So,Words are yours i,m a Great Fan of Predator movies and this one will be a Masterpiece Thank you for let me comment :)
Wow, I honestly didn't expect 2 Predators in this movie.
All great ideas. It would seem ideal to have a sandbox mission driven style game with 1st/3rd person options. Additionally, it could be done in a way with side missions and such for compleatists but unnecessary for those who want to just play through it for the story.
@ali81
Yes I have both KOTOR and KOTOR II: Sith Lords.
Having the honor system being based on KOTOR's light/dark side does sound a lot better.
anyone played star wars KOTOR? as ur story progresses ur actions and conversations dictate whether ur a jedi or sith. maybe something similar where if u do something dishonourable u drift closer to becoming a bad blood and if u hunt honourably then u rise up the ranks in the clan. if u end up a bad blood maybe the last part of the game could be the other yautja hunting u and u have to escape the planet
Just over four and a half years ago I proposed an open world Predator game that would borrow heavily from the Assassins Creed and Batman Arkham video games. You can read that proposition HERE.
I still believe that this is the most viable option for a Predator game, though I also believe that an optional first-person perspective could also be used, as games like Thief, Dishonored and Skyrim have showcased.
I like that idea Xenotaris!
Would be cool if it was also Open world, maybe like Mass Effect, explore a few star systems, hunt on different worlds, moons etc?
A Predator action survival Role Playing game would be nice. Instead of experience points, you get honor points to level up. Cause Dishonor and you'll loose honor points and potentially your rank level.
That is an interesting idea! Maybe as you go along and advance, you begin to mutate and by the end of the game you are an actual Predator?
As both an Alien fan and Predator fan, I hated the first AVP movie on so many levels. Requiem I liked a bit better since it was more faithful to source material but it too could of have been better.
The only thing AVP related that I loved was Aliens versus Predator 2 and its expansion pack Primal Hunt.
it would make sense if their goal is to become the ultimate species. if they see that for their species to last they must know how to fight and overcome all so its totally possible that they have decided to use their technology to incorporate the strengths of others into themselves believing if they have everyone elses strengths then theres nothing any attacking species can do to them. would also make sense if they saw themselves as THE dominant species in the galaxy one day? an all conquering race
it becomes difficult for several reasons and movies have this problem aswell. we have logic mixed with sci-fi and its hard to make it believable that humans at this time can be viewed on the same level as the yautja as they have way more advanced tech than we do so other than predators, how do u get a group of humans light years away from earth to interact with them? only way is to do what was done in alien and set it in the future. id go the opposite way.
go back in time. the first yautja to come to earth do their blooding hunt and its successful yet they see the potential in man evolving into a serious prey. so when they are leaving they take a group of humans with them. those humans breed and evolve within yautja society. u play as one of these early abducted humans waking up on a hunting planet and have to survive but as u go and complete tasks the yautja teach u things about their past, their civilisation and their tech.all I have just now but still thinking
It could be the Genetic Engineering Element could in part introduce us to another Aspect of the Yautja, could maybe even explain why the Hunt Species... and Capture some to take to other Worlds (Predators) if they use this to assess different Species Ability to Survive the Hunt they could then try and Genetically Obtain Traits from those Species.
Maybe?
dk I agree. having earth be a right of passage is good enough for me but I do see that if they cant come up with something fresh on another world then the upgrading and hyberdizing idea is a logical way to make another movie. I just don't want to be sitting watching the movie and half way through know whats coming because I played a video game years ago. if this is a rogue faction or a species of yautja from another planet then its good their trying to expand the franchise but if that's what their doing we really need backstories to it all
Upgrade how? Technologically? OK. But why the hunt? It seems there are at least two ideas. Somehow it sounds vaguely Borg-like if this is how it goes down. I like that we don't really know ;)
That said, the original Predator was just that. We were mere goobers to it- except for Dutch.
the instant the huge predator was mentioned concrete jungle came to mind. is this plot gna centre around the same as the video game? the face plate on the left looks like the same as the one the predator in the trailer is wearing so is this a take from the avp game where a predator takes it because it belonged to a highly revered yautja and can show it what happened to it? be interesting to see.
yea I agree. some of the tech from AVP was good so would be welcomed in the Predator but I don't see it going much farther than that. I think Black is smart enough to not just white wash the avp franchise as he can then bring elements, such as the tech, he liked into his film without ppl calling him out on it. the only thing I really want to see is someone attempt a little backstory to the yautja. doesn't have to completely reveal everything about them but if we start getting little bits n pieces then id be happy and then possibly someone can come along and give us something similar to the idea RS was going for in his alien prequels. id like to see the connection to the tech and the civilisation. their obviously smart enough to use the tech but is it theirs?
Its interesting take for sure.....
With little coming out so far, and only one trailer there is not too much to go by.
It would appear that Mankind or at least one Secret Scientific Group has obtained/Re-Engineer Predator Tech Dating back from the first TWO Predator movies.
It appears there are either Captured Predators or a Predator, and could this be from prior event... or recently after the Kid Activates that Beacon?
Where know the Plot appears to suggest the Predators are going around World to World Genetically upgrading themselves with Traits of other Organisms. And we see the Scientist have captured a Predator that they could be doing their own Genetic Experiments with... Maybe trying to obtain Predator DNA to make Super Human Soldiers?
We have the Set Leaked Photos that show at least TWO Predators are accompanying those Human Ex Marines with PTSD, with them appearing in Camo Gear and using Human Weapons. Did the Humans Jail Break the Predators?
We heard the Rumor of the Big Mutha! Predator and so i wonder if this is a Experiment that Humans have carried out?
I have a feeling we will be seeing Humans using Predator Tech or Re-Engineered Tech, Predators using Human Tech and Predators using New Predator Tech we have not seen or stuff we have seen in the AVP movies.
A Part of me is thinking we will get the reveal that some/all of those Soldiers with PTSD are/have actually be experimented on for the DNA/Skills either by Predators in the past, or Humans trying to replicate what they have seen the Predators attempting to do.
Thats my MY Two Cents..
Hopefully its either a serious attempt at Sci-Fi Action, with a small dose of Humor..... and not the Trend of the last 10 years Movies where they put too much Goofyness and Humor...
We dont want the Predator Series to be a Spiderman Homecoming or Dead Pool ;)
Hopefully it will be a pleasant surprise, so i am not setting my hopes up too high, but i think it could be a decent addition to the Franchise.
I'm with Chris... I remain optimistic.

It appears NECA will honor Mr. Black as well.
There won't be any direct mention of AvP as far as I know, just references to weaponry and probably some Predator tech designs. But I agree, it sounds decent. I'm remaining optimistic.
Sounds really good so far. So they are counting AVP/AVPR as part of the Predator universe. And it sounds like there will be more.
This is going to rock!
The Predator films have always had a sense of humour; from Blacks own character Hawkins with his pussy jokes, to Bill Paxtons wise-cracking one-liners, to Topher Grace's sarcastic black humour.
This time we will have half a dozen comedic relief characters instead.
Blacks humour is usually on-point, timeless and sharp.
Seeing the Types of Predator/Equipment and Weaponry from the AVP Series would be something interesting/welcomed.
Yeah, I don't think the references will be overly profound at all. Could very well be just the weaponry, like the Shuriken.
Nice to see they realize that good characters will help the movie... i am concerned about the connection to AVP though... hopefully it is just a Easter Egg and Nothing more..
I am deliberately not watching the films. I know that I love P1 and AVP. The others not so much. I am jazzed that AVP will be acknowledged! AVPR can suck it though.
I re-watched all the Predator films last weekend. Getting keen for this film.
Predators is a good film. I enjoy it more each time I watch it
Great news! There could be some nice directions to go for both franchises.
@ali81
It was second the Aliens versus Predator book I believe or the third book? Perhaps Dachande mentioned it in the first book.
The only AVP books i read was Prey (1st Book), Hunter Planet (2nd Book, and War (3rd Book)
@BigDave
Your right, which obviously wouldn't be out of character for the yaut'ja seeing as they did join forces with oomans (humans) on several occasions both movie, comic, and novel.
Certainly could be....
It does appear to me that a Human Company/Scientist do also conduct their own Genetic Experiments on a Predator though.
im getting a predator:concrete jungle kinda feel to the plot
@Xenotaris
Ha Ha ;)
But my response still i feel is what we could be seeing in this movie lol, "thank you Humans for Breaking me out, i will repay your Deed by Protecting your Species with my Buddies"
in lore (which probably wont remain relevant), its meant to be extremely painfull for the Yautja to get their dreads. cant remember what its made of but I believe it is their hair and they get it put into locks when they hit their form of puberty. they have to remain still and quiet during the whole process for if they scream out they shame themselves. cant remember the source but I do remember reading a novel which went into detail about it all.
I have a feeling we could be seeing a connection between all the Predator Movies...
So they may run with a Plot that after the Predator Encounter from the 1987 Movie... we get the Predators come back to earth in Predator 2.
And maybe they then come back from this point now and again, and take Humans away just as we see in Predators and they then begin to incorporate some Human Traits to their Genetics. So the New Movie Plot could explain the Super Predators in the last movie they did as being PART of the EXPERIMENTS the Predators conducted on themselves by using DNA of other Species.
This PLOT could expand the Predator Franchise beyond Predators visiting Earth, to actually showing us other Worlds, Races and Predators.... and so maybe like a Ridley Scotts War of the Worlds... only NO Xenomorphs, Androids and Engineers.... But Predators and other Species they encounter in the Galaxy.
