Back in May, some photographs were taken on location in Vancouver, Canada from the upcoming movie The Predator which depicted some of the cast such as Keegan-Michael Key and Trevante Rhodes driving an armored military transport. What made these photographs stand out was that joining Key and Rhodes were two other cast members wearing Predator suits. Of even more interest was that these Predators seemed to be wearing human military attire, such as combat pants, and combat vests. For those already concerned about the direction this movie seems to be taking, these confusing images did little to quieten the ever-growing doubt surrounding Shane Black's movie.
Courtesy of YouTuber Hybrid Network, it appears the mystery of the combat fatigue wearing Predators may have been solved. In a new video in which HN postulates the possibility of The Predator movie introducing audiences to a female member of the alien hunter race, he makes reference to the Predators depicted in the earlier mentioned photographs (one included above), stating that in a leaked script the Predators in question are disavowed from their tribe, and having sought asylum here on Earth are now working for the government, or most likely the OWLF (Other World Life Forms) task force first introduced in 1990's Predator 2. HN goes on to infer that as a result of this transgression Predators come to Earth to hunt these wayward Predators.
So, much like with 2004's Alien vs. Predator, it looks as though we are again going see humans fighting alongside Predators, set among the backdrop of suburbia, a la 2007's AvP:R, with Predator on Predator conflict, much like as in 2010's Predator. It's nice to see that Shane Black looks set to inject some much-needed originality into the franchise (obvious sarcasm).
